在這篇文章中,我們將介紹美國 46 所 LGBTQ 友善的大學,以及這些學校是如何對這些族群友善。
如何判斷學校對 LGBTQ 是友善的?
雖然現代社會對於 LGBTQ 的接受程度已經比以往高出許多,但是類似「不友善」的新聞報導還是層出不窮。Campus Pride 是一個美國非營利組織,從 2007 年以來就一直致力為 LGBTQ 學生打造更安全的校園和學習環境。
他們在網站中打造了一個線上免費資源,稱為 The Campus Pride Index (校園驕傲指數)。在這裡,學生跟家長可以查詢所有學校對 LGBTQ 的友善指數。
當然,針對學校的評分不光只是知名度而已,還有以下這 8 個判斷指標:
- LGBTQ Policy Inclusion (政策包容)
- LGBTQ Support and Institutional Commitment (機構支持與承諾)
- LGBTQ Academic life (學術環境)
- LGBTQ Student Life (學生環境)
- LGBTQ Housing (住宿)
- LGBTQ Campus Safety (校園安全性)
- LGBTQ Counseling and Health (諮詢與健康)
- LGBTQ Recruitment and Retention Efforts (招募與保留工作)
根據上面這些指標,校園驕傲指數會從一到五顆星給分,五分為滿分,也就是對 LGBTQ 最友善的學校。但是對於那些 3-4 星的學校來說仍然可以考慮,因為他們可能本來就處在非 LGBTQ 友善的地區。
