準備申請2022年美國大學的同學們看過來！8月1日起 Common App 已經更新完系統，並宣布正式開放囉！
Common App 是什麼？
Common App 的全名是Common Application，中文名字是共通申請表，它提供全美超過900大學的申請。填寫共通申請表是免費的，但是每所大學會有各自的申請費用，平均一間學校會需要支付 $25-$90 美金不等。

2022年 Common App 做了哪些系統上的更新？
今年Common App系統主要有5個變化，這些更新從8月1日開始生效：
- 刪除關於學校紀律情況的問題
- 刪除當兵退伍的問題
- 刪除關於宗教偏好的問題
- 針對國籍、家庭和地理問題進行修改
- 針對性別問題進行修改
從上面這些更新中，不難發現 Common App 把系統調整的更人性化一些，不讓一些敏感議題、人種、低收入戶等成為學生就學的阻礙。
2022年作文題目變化
另外大家比較關注的應該是作文題目部分，今年跟前幾年相比，只有一題有變化，也是這五年來唯一一次變動。接下來就讓我們來看看是哪一題做了修改，學生又應該如何回答？
題目1：無變動
Some students have a background, identity, interest, or talent that is so meaningful they believe their application would be incomplete without it. If this sounds like you, then please share your story.
題目2：2017年後有調整
The lessons we take from obstacles we encounter can be fundamental to later success. Recount a time when you faced a challenge, setback, or failure. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the experience?
解釋：原先的題目是要求學生寫一件讓你印象深刻失敗的事情，但2017年後又增加”這件失敗的事情帶給你什麼經驗或成長，或者是帶給你怎麼樣的挑戰“，所以學生在撰寫這道題目時要注意內容重點。
題目3：無變動
Reflect on a time when you questioned or challenged a belief or idea. What prompted your thinking? What was the outcome?
題目4：有變動
舊題目：Describe a problem you’ve solved or a problem you’d like to solve. It can be an intellectual challenge, a research query, an ethical dilemma – anything that is of personal importance, no matter the scale. Explain its significance to you and what steps you took or could be taken to identify a solution.
新題目：Reflect on something that someone has done for you that has made you happy or thankful in a surprising way. How has this gratitude affected or motivated you?
原本的題目是要學生寫想要解決或已經解決的問題，其重要性跟你將如何解決/你如何解決；但是新的題目換成了”回想某人為你做的讓你驚喜或感激的事，這種感激如何影響或鼓勵你？“
也許是因為Covid-19的關係，過去一年世界的運作忽然有了轉變，所以Common App才決定更改題目。這道題目的撰文重點是：我們在經歷這段過程中多少會受到別人的幫助或支持，或是同心協力共同防疫。這些事情多少會激發我們感恩的心、盡自己一份心力回饋些什麼給社區或社會等，如果你有什麼比較具體的行動或想法，就可以闡述下來。
題目5：無變動
Discuss an accomplishment, event, or realization that sparked a period of personal growth and a new understanding of yourself or others.
題目6：無變動
Describe a topic, idea, or concept you find so engaging that it makes you lose all track of time. Why does it captivate you? What or who do you turn to when you want to learn more?
題目7：無變動
Share an essay on any topic of your choice. It can be one you’ve already written, one that responds to a different prompt, or one of your own design.
