QS 2020美国大学排名出炉!

今天 QS 第一次公布2020 美国大学排名，哈佛大学(Harvard University) 持续是美国大学的龙头，史丹佛大学(Stanford)，麻省理工(MIT)，UC柏克莱大学(UC Berkeley)，及哥伦比亚大学(Columbia University)分别为今年全美的前二到五名。 QS 之前也做了世界大学排名，及不同科系的大学排名，这里我们做个整理！

排名评分标准

我们都会跟学生强调，一定要了解每个不同的排名的标准。不同的排名机构对大学的条件有主观的认知，也都有不同的算法，学生跟家长应该要先理解排名评分的算法，如果您认同这个算法，这个排行表对您才有意义。

QS 依照以下 4 大类（就业能力，多元化，学习经历，及研究）共 17 项目为大学做评分：

1. 就业能力 (Employability) (27%)

• 公司对学校的评价 (Employer reputation) (10%)
• 毕业生给学生的人脉 (Alumni outcomes) (10%)
• 10年后的薪水 (Salary after 10 years) (7%)

2. 学生多元化及国际性 (Diversity & Internationalisation) (25%)

• 男女薪资平等 (Gender pay gap) (2.5%)
• 职员性别平等 (Faculty gender diversity) (2.5%)
• 大学生获得助学金比例 (Ratio of undergraduate students receiving Pell grants) (5%)
• 学生种族多元化 (Students’ ethnicity mix) (5%)
• Fulbright奖学金数量 (Number of Fulbright recipients per institution) (5%)
• 国际生比例 (Proportion of international students) (5%)

3. 学习经历 (Learning experience) (22%)

• 提供给每位学生的教育支出 (Average instructional expenditure per FTE student)(10%)
• 学生留校意愿 (Retention rate) (5%)
• 助学金学生毕业率 (Pell grant student graduation rates compared with other students) (3.5%)
• 师生比例 (Student-faculty ratio) (3.5%)

大学排行表到底准不准，为什么不同排行表的顺序都不同？哪个排名最可信？

每个排行表会用各自的因素跟比重去排名。作为一个理智的学生或家长，你在相信任何事之前都要先问why：为什么这个排行表的第 1 名是哈佛，第 21 名是波士顿大学，为什么 US News 的顺序很不同？

虽然看排行表很刺激（？），但看排名之前，第一件事一定是要看它的排名方式。我们在文章的最前面先放的QS 的排名算分方式，对QS 来说，就业能力、多元化、学习经历、跟研究大概都各占四分之一的比重，但US News 对于“来自其他大学人员对该大学的声望” (reputation from other institutions) 的比重就占12.5%。不同的表有不同的公式，排名顺序当然不同。

那哪个最有公信力？一件事可不可信是来自你自己觉得合不合理。虽然US News 最有名，但如果你认为大学评分比重最重要的事情是“学生满意度”、“教授教学满意度”、“校园生活快乐指数”、“毕业后薪水”、“就业率”、“升迁率”，那你就0% 不能相信US News，因为US News 的评分方式完全不纳入以上这些项目！看完一个排名的评分方式，如果你80% 同意他的算法，那这个表的可信度就是80%，如果你认为他的评分方式（项目，比重）是完美的，那你就该100%相信他的排名。
